Humming Oaks Press was founded by Susan and Jamie Cortz in 2023. The mission is to foster kindness and character through our stories, love of animals, and philanthropy. We are a socially responsible company committed to the humane treatment of animals and animal conservancy. A portion of the proceeds from each book sale is given to animal welfare organizations.

Susan is a dedicated educator and children's book author. Jamie has been in public education as a teacher and administrator since 1996. He is also the founder of the non-profit organization Readers Rising, which focuses on early childhood literacy. Jamie has a passion for helping kids find joy in reading and learning.
